Black History Month Installation

La Salle’s sculpture classes learned about the importance of the Sankofa bird to begin La Salle's month-long celebration of Black History Month. The sankofa bird, a widely used symbol in Ghana, has his head looking back with his feet pointing forward to represent the need to reflect on our past to build a successful future. Each student created a bird sculpture in flight which were hung as a class to demonstrate a great migration. The student work is on display along the third floor hallway.
