Faculty & Staff Awards

During the Founder's Week Liturgy on May 12th, members of our faculty and staff were recognized for their outstanding dedication and hard work. Our school is honored to award Mr. Tim Stanton the 2022 St. Joseph Service Award and Mr. Anthony Fernandes the 2022 Lasallian Educator of the Year Award.

Saint Joseph School Service Award

Saint Joseph has long been associated with the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. In fact, Saint Joseph is the Patron Saint of the International Institute. This award is presented annually to a La Salle employee who epitomizes the Lasallian spirit of service.

The recipient should demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Manifests daily actions that support the Mission of the School

  • Demonstrates a steady commitment to fellow workers and students by exhibiting patience, understanding, and humor

  • Is flexible with one’s time and is willing to assist others

  • Participates in the co-curricular life of the school (i.e. attends games, retreats, VPA events...)

  • Is selfless in not expecting any special recognition

Tim Stanton has been a faithful member of the La Salle Community for over 32 years. He is a talented member of our facilities staff, often fixing or installing all things mechanical or electrical on campus. Additionally, Mr. Stanton spent many years supporting our Athletic teams and Co-Curricular Programs by driving our buses and making sure many Lancers made it safely to their destinations.

The Lasallian Educator Award

The Lasallian Educator Award honors a colleague who exemplifies the ideals of St. John Baptist de La Salle in today’s world.

Selection Criteria: De La Salle realized that the mission required:

  • Dedicated and committed individuals who were qualified educators;

  • People who understood their own dignity as children of God so that they could pass this on to their students;

  • People who could cherish and care for their students like older sisters and brothers; and

  • Above all, people who were themselves committed to a life of faith and prayer so that they could lead their students in the spiritual life, inculcating living values.

It is our purpose, as a Lasallian community, to honor a member of our educational community (administrator or faculty) who models these values.

Anthony Fernandes is completing his 20th year as a stalwart teacher in our Science Department, currently teaching Genetics & Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, and AP Chemistry. He has played a huge role in our science outreach program, bringing prospective students to our campus to showcase our science curriculum and capabilities. He is a man of great faith in both his words and deeds.
