Recognition

The thoughtful support of alumni, parents, grandparents and friends has helped sustain La Salle College Preparatory's margin of excellence since 1956. The School acknowledges this generosity in a number of important ways.

Annual Giving Societies

Gifts to the Annual Fund (defined as unrestricted and restricted gifts made during La Salle's fiscal year, which falls between July 1 and June 30) are recognized at a range of levels, and the premier annual giving society is the President's Cabinet, and which includes gifts of $10,000 or more. The President's Cabinet succeeds the President's Council (gifts between $5,000 and $9,999) as La Salle's preeminent annual gift society. Members of the Crystal Circle, President's Circle, President's Council, and President's Cabinet are recognized on a donor wall in prominent display at the School and in the Annual Report. At whatever level you choose to support La Salle on an annual basis, your support is most warmly welcome.

Lifetime Giving Societies

The School also recognizes donors whose cumulative giving exceeds $100,000 (the Bene Merenti Society), and those whose cumulative giving is between $50,000-$99,999 (the Buttimer Society). Each of these donor groups falls under the rubric of the Platinum Circle. All Platinum Circle members are recognized on a donor wall in prominent display at the School and in the Annual Report.

The Platinum Circle
In honor of those donors who have exercised great leadership in the advancement of the Mission and Philosophy of La Salle, which enables the School to carry out the vision of its Founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the following groups comprise the “Platinum Circle”:

The Bene Merenti Society

“Bene Merenti” is Latin for “well-deserving.” Donors whose lifetime cumulative contributions to La Salle have exceeded $100,000 are truly well-deserving of our gratitude for their commitment to the School’s Mission.

The Buttimer Society
Donors whose lifetime cumulative contributions have exceeded $50,000 join the Buttimer Society; named after the first American Superior General of the Christian Brothers – Brother Charles Henry Buttimer, FSC. Like Brother Charles Henry who governed the Institute during the turbulent decade of the Sixties, these donors ensure the financial stability of La Salle.

St. Benilde Society

La Salle recognizes those donors who have restricted their contributions of $1,000.00+ to the School’s Endowment Funds or included La Salle in their estate planning through one of a number of Planned Giving instruments including gift annuities, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, lead trusts and bequests. These donors are honored as members of the Saint Benilde Society and are recognized on a donor wall in prominent display at the School and in the Annual Report. Similar to the visionary actions of Brother Celestine, the founding principal of La Salle College Preparatory, the support of these individuals will help secure the perpetuity of the Mission and Philosophy of La Salle College Preparatory for generations.
