Return to Campus and In-Person Instruction Postponed to Monday, January 10, 2022

Message from the President’s Office - January 5, 2022

Dear La Salle Community,

Today, we received notification that our campus testing partner, COVID Testing Today, has been overwhelmed by the sharp increase in testing demand, along with staffing shortages brought on by the recent COVID-19 omicron surge. Unfortunately, surge-related testing delays are widespread amongst all testing sites and partners city, county, and statewide.

Due to these factors, COVID Testing Today will not have test results back to us in time for our planned start of school on Thursday, January 6th. Due to the delay in the test results, and to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and community, classes will now resume on Monday, January 10, 2022. This additional delay should provide our testing partner with ample time to return our baseline testing results, therefore reducing the risk of COVID-19 spread amongst our community.

Upon our return to campus and in-person instruction, we will continue to provide on-campus testing on Monday and Tuesday of every week. As recommended by the Pasadena Public Health Department, we encourage all students, faculty, and staff to test weekly to help reduce the risk of transmission amongst our community.

I’d like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation as we adopted enhanced health and safety protocols over the last few weeks in preparation for our return to campus. I am very grateful to all those who submitted their COVID-19 test verification to us or came to campus for testing this week. The well-being of our entire La Salle family and community is my top priority.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our COVID-19 Compliance Team at covidteam@lasallehs.org. Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and partnership as we continue to navigate the changing landscape of this pandemic together. Your collective resilience is outstanding and I am confident we will continue to persevere together.
