Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Task Force Update

Since its initial video conference in May, our DEIB Task Force has met twice on June 5 and June 12 to discuss the strategic planning process and the framework being used by Dr. Joel Pérez. Rooted in our Catholic Lasallian mission, this effort is focused on having meaningful and impactful discussions on how we can become a leader in our community as we nurture, inspire, challenge, and motivate our students, faculty, and staff.

The framework utilizes four unique dimensions the Task Force is addressing at each session. The dimensions include: organizational vitality and viability, education and scholarship, access and success, and climate and intergroup relations. The group discussed organizational vitality and viability at the last meeting and shared thoughts on what key indicators of success would be most appropriate for our school community. Dr. Perez is compiling the information from the meeting and will be sharing it with the group at the June 30 meeting. Future meetings will cover each of the dimensions and form the structure around the strategic plan. President Perry Martin has asked for a draft of the plan to be reviewed by his administrative leadership team after Labor Day. The plan will go back to the Task Force on September 14 for any final review and editing before final submission to Mr. Martin.

We would like to thank the members of the Task Force for their important work in advancing this forum of dialogue on the topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Future meeting dates are as follows: June 30, July 17, August 10, August 28, and September 14. Members of the Task Force include:
