Meet the Team
Ms. Tam Ly, Director of Counseling Ms. Tam Ly completed her BS degree in Human Services at Cal State Fullerton, her MS degree in Social Welfare at UCLA, and her second MS degree in Educational Counseling with PPS Credential at Concordia University. She began her career as a therapist and social worker, working with foster youth in child protective services. She later transitioned her career into education which was the perfect pairing of her background in mental health coupled with her passion for student support. Ms. Ly currently serves on the Principal's Council, Mentor Committee, Crisis Response Team, and is the moderator of the Mental Health Awareness Club. For fun, Ms. Ly is an adventure enthusiast and loves to explore national parks, beaches, and thrill-seeking activities such as sky diving. | |
![]() | Ms. Katherine Hyche, Counselor/Learning Specialist Additional Roles: Executive Skills Instructor Ms. Hyche earned her BA degree in Communications from Manhattan College and her M. Ed. degree in School Counseling with PPS Credential from USC. She is a La Salle alumni, Class of 2012, and is excited to be back at her alma mater. Before returning to La Salle, Ms. Hyche served in numerous roles as an academic support instructor, instructional aid, substitute teacher, and school counselor. She is excited to be returning to the La Salle community once more. She currently serves as a Mentor teacher and Executive Skills instructor. For fun, Ms. Hyche enjoys taking her dog on outdoor adventures and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. |
Mr. Patrick Henry, Counselor
mphenry@lasallehs.org | (626) 696-4402 Mr. Patrick Henry completed his BA degree in History from Saint Mary’s College of California and his M.Ed. degree in Counseling from the University of La Verne. He began his career as a teacher of World History, US History, and Religious Studies in Los Angeles and northern California before coming to La Salle College Preparatory. In addition to teaching, he has served numerous roles as an admissions director, academic advisor, college counselor, and as the chair of the counseling department at La Salle. Mr. Henry continues to be a counselor and Mentor teacher, building rapport with families and serving as a strong student advocate. Mr. Henry loves to binge on history podcasts and dreams of driving along PCH to his happy place, Morro Bay. | |
Mr. Owen Hou ‘90, Counselor
ohou@lasallehs.org | (626) 696-4314 Mr. Owen Hou earned his BA degree in Economics from UC Berkeley and his MS degree in School Counseling with PPS Credential from the University of La Verne. He is currently pursuing a second MS degree in Data Analytics at the University of La Verne. Before returning to his alma mater, he apprenticed with a college counselor and worked in logistics, sales, and educational consulting fields. Mr. Hou has been at La Salle for over 17 years and is an alum and parent of a graduate. He currently serves on the Mentor Committee and is the ACT/SAT Testing Coordinator. Outside of work, he is often found at his local park, where he coaches his children's soccer teams and also serves as a board member of his local AYSO region. | |

Mrs. Marcia Yu, Counselor Mrs. Marcia Yu earned her Bachelor's degree in Business at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, Brazil. She began her career in the Information Technology (IT) field working as an application developer, business analyst and IT Manager at World Vision Brazil. In 2000, she transferred over to World Vision International in Monrovia, CA where she worked as a senior project manager for global information systems. In 2015, she obtained her Master's degree in School and Clinical Counseling at Azusa Pacific University. She has over seven years of experience as a counselor and Mentor teacher at La Salle. She also serves as the coordinator for the college tours, parent newsletter, summer college writing workshop, and junior and senior parent nights. Mrs. Yu is the proud parent of a daughter who graduated in 2021 and a son who is a junior. |
