Retreats

- A four-year program designed to be an integral part of each student’s growth and development during their high school years.

-All release forms need to be turned in to Ms. Moore

-Junior and Senior retreats have limited space and do have the potential to sell out.

-Checks must be made out to La Salle High School

-Financial Aid is available.  Contact Ms. Moore for details.


9th Grade: “Called to Community: Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve”

                    Date: September 4th & 5th     (not overnight)

                    Time: 7:45am-2:30pm

                     Location: Saint Joseph’s Retreat Center

                     Fee: $25

- Day 1: focus is on building and serving the community and serves as an introduction to the Lasallion Core Principles

- Day 2: students will perform supervised service at the Los Angeles Food Bank

*All freshmen attend both days of the retreat.

 

10th Grade: “Challenged To Make A Difference”

                      Date: February 5th & 6th   (not overnight)

                      Time: 7:45am-2:30pm

                      Location: Saint Joseph’s Retreat Center

                      Fee:$25

 

-Day 1 : focus is on the importance of quality education for every child, especially the marginalized.

-Day 2 : students serve at elementary schools in low-income neighborhoods.

*All sophomores attend both days of the retreat.

 

11th Grade: “Who Do You Say I Am?”

                       Date: October 22nd – 24th or April 22nd -24th 

                       Time: 3:30pm Monday- 4:00pm Wednesday (Overnight)

                        Location: Mt. Kare in Wrightwood, CA   

                        Fee: $140

 

-“Who Do You Say That I Am?” is an overnight retreat that encourages juniors to answer this question in relationship to God, self, friends and family

-Students are not required to attend, but are invited to participate in one of the two retreats offered junior year


12th Grade: “Oh! The Places You’ll Go!”

                        Date: January 22nd – 24th or March 4th -6th

                        Time: 3:30pm on Day One- 6:00pm on Day three (Overnight)

                        Location: Mt Kare in Wrightwood, CA

                        Fee:$140

 

- This overnight retreat examines the theme of journey as students prepare for the next phase of their life beyond La Salle.

-Students are not required to attend, but are invited to participate in one of the two retreats offered senior year.

Pasadena area alums partnered with the Salvation Army on May 11th for Alumni National Month of Service
Alums living in our nation's capitol enjoyed some drinks and networking on May 8th, 2013
Nearly 30 alums returned to campus May 7-9 to speak to interested sophomores about their industries and career paths.
Alumni living in the Los Angeles area participated in the Alumni National Month of Service project at the St. Francis Center in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, May 4th 
Alumni living in San Francisco volunteered their time for Alumni National Month of Service on Saturday, April 27th to tutor 4th-8th grade students at De Marillac Academy. 
Tood Kislter '00 returned to campus on April 29th to share his newspaper insights as a news copy editor with students who work on the school newspaper, "The Lance."
Tom Anthony '67 returned to campus to speak with AP Government students about his career working for the FAA
Charlie Guillen '94 was back on campus to share his experience as a filmmaker with students interested in the film industry.
Dick Baumer '63 (father of Chris Baumer '94) was on campus on April 10, 2013 to speak with members of La Salle's Support Our Troops Club and Animal Heroes Club about his experience as a military dog handler in Vietnam.
